Every item rented is an item not manufactured, not shipped from a factory, and not destined for a landfill after a few uses. The rental economy is, at its core, a sustainability movement — even if many participants don't think of it that way.
At Arentzo, we track the environmental impact of every transaction on our platform. Here are the numbers from 2025.

Our carbon offset calculator estimates that each rental transaction on Arentzo saves an average of 16 kg of CO₂ compared to a new purchase — accounting for shared logistics and reduced manufacturing demand.
Category Impact
Furniture: The biggest impact category. Renting a sofa set for 12 months instead of buying prevents approximately 180 kg of CO₂ emissions and 120 kg of wood waste.
Electronics: Renting a laptop for a 6-month project instead of buying saves 350 kg of CO₂ (factoring in mining, manufacturing, and eventual e-waste).
Vehicles: Each shared vehicle on our platform replaces an estimated 3.5 private vehicle purchases, reducing urban congestion and emissions.
Event Equipment: Wedding and event rentals are the champion category — a single wedding using rented decor, furniture, and equipment prevents an average of 500 kg of waste.
